Emotional fitness and connection

Embark on a transformative one-day session dedicated to “Emotional Fitness and Connection” for Equestrians. Delve into the profound connection between your body and the horse’s body, recognising that emotional information is not exclusive to the brain but also resides within our physical selves. This session focuses on harnessing the power of body awareness to foster a mutually respectful relationship with your horse.
Guided by the Master Herder Model developed by Linda Kohanov, this learning experience explores the multifaceted, socially intelligent leadership roles that make a “Master Herder.” By applying these roles in a flexible manner, participants gain insights into becoming effective leaders for their horses and other animals.
Facilitated by Ingrid, a certified PoH (Power of the Herd) and MH (Masterherder) Eponaquest Instructor, this workshop incorporates the fundamental philosophy and methods of the Eponaquest® Approach™ to Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning. Practical exercises with your own horse or our horses are integral to this training, providing a hands-on and immersive experience. Join us to unlock the secrets of emotional fitness and connection, enhancing your ability to lead and connect with your equine companions in a meaningful and respectful way.
Basic riding & horse fitness

Embark on a comprehensive one-day session dedicated to achieving “Horse-Friendly Riding and Conditioning” — a holistic approach to ensuring the well-being and optimal performance of both horse and rider. Hosted by Ingrid and Patrick, passionate advocates for equine welfare and effective training methods, this workshop blends theory and practice for a transformative learning experience.
The day begins with an insightful lecture on the intricacies of the horse’s brain, exploring senses, learning behaviours, and the significance of a healthy mind for a healthy body. The second part delves into horse-friendly training techniques and the art of building fitness using a heart rate monitor. Participants gain practical insights through measurements conducted on participating horse-rider combinations.
The third part of the session involves collaborative exercises, where participants work with Ingrid and Patrick to develop personalised training plans based on individual goals and preferred sport or activities. With a limited number of 3 to 6 participating combinations, the workshop ensures a personalised and immersive experience.
Ingrid draws inspiration from Rien van der Schaft, a Dutch and International authority on training horses and riders, and Dr. Carolien Munsters, a Dutch expert in equine sports physiology and researcher. Additionally, Ingrid infuses her own experiences from her own horses, providing a rich and practical dimension to the learning session. Join us for a day of equine education, where ambition meets compassionate training, setting the stage for realising the aspirations of every horse lover.
